BLURB & FULL COVER REVEAL FOR UNSEEN MESSAGES

Unseen Messages Facebook Cover Art

I can’t tell you HOW HARD it has been keeping this blurb a secret.  I’m the type of person who has to share anything pretty (and this cover is definitely pretty). I’m also the type of person to want to share things I’m crazy in love with. However, Unseen Messages was the book I wrote for me. (All my books are written for me. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be able to keep the passion for my characters. However, this book…this was the story that’s been lurking inside me for decades. And I finally got the push to write it).

Before I reveal what this book is about, let me tell you a little bit about WHY I wanted to write it.

  1. I’m a lover of all things EPIC. Give me a storyline that lasts for years and I can grow with the characters, that’s my utopia when it comes to reading.
  2. I’m mildly obsessed (okay COMPLETELY obsessed) with the theme of WHAT IF. What if something bad happened and the world turned to chaos? Could I survive it? What if I went back in time and ended up in the war between Redcoats and Scottish (Outlander). Would I fall in love with handsome Jamie? What if I was born in another time in the ice ages? Would I have been a good forager and healer (Clan of the Cave Bear). Because I’m a LOVER of this genre, it’s only fair to say I’ve been wanting to write my own tale of WHAT IF for ages.
  3. I kept putting it off and off because I didn’t know if I could do it justice. I knew it had to be a standalone. But I also knew I wanted to focus on the SURVIVING part rather than the romance. Romance was important, but so was staying alive. And if I couldn’t get that part right…then I wasn’t ready to start telling such a tale.
  4. I was going to keep putting this book off until something happened. Something that well and truly slapped this book into my mind and trumped every other project I had on the go (and believe me. I have a TON). Unseen Messages morphed from a small standalone to a large one, to a love story that spans, not just their highs and lows, but immortalized bits of myself in its pages.

I know as an author, you’re not supposed to admit this, but I’m going to. I’m proud of all my work. I love every character equally. I’m so blessed that I adore what I do and will happily stand by any work that I put my name to. However, Unseen Messages is different. This one, I’m in love with. I think about its content and I smile. I dream about its plot and I want to live there. It isn’t just the characters, location, storyline or anything I can describe. It’s the knowledge that I wrote this ENTIRELY for me. I stopped looking at word count, writing rules, dos and don’ts. I threw everything I knew out the window and just wrote.

It was refreshing. Terrifying. Soul-soothing. And I hope that the passion I wrote this story with glows in the words you’ll read on the 30th March.

First, let me reveal the blurb and then I’ll tell you what inspired this tale.

Unseen Messages 589 Cream 6x9

“There is a message for everything. From handwritten to verbal, seen and unseen. Messages exist all around us.”

But what if you don’t see?
What if you don’t understand?
What if, by ignoring the message, your life is never the same again?

Estelle Evermore morphed from nobody to somebody overnight.

Galloway Oak put his past behind him and endeavoured to make his fortune using his trade.

Two strangers.

One plane.

Multiple unseen messages.

From sky to island, they find neither fame nor skills can save them. Stripped from society and left alone to survive the elements, the very task of staying alive outweighs all other needs.

Until survival turns to desire.

And desire turns to danger.

Right, it all started on the 28th August 2015 when hubby and I boarded a flight from Los Angeles to fly home. I’m not a nervous flyer. I used to be a flight attendant and have lived through a cabin fire, landing gear malfunction and turbulence that left me bruised for weeks. However, I AM someone who listens to instincts and from the moment we entered the LAX terminal, I wasn’t happy. I won’t ruin the story but word for word what happens to Estelle in Unseen Messages happened to me. Every message. Every random occurance. Right down to what happens on board and what she stuffs in her pockets.

I lived that.

I was Estelle.

Even her wardrobe, jewellery, and inner thoughts were mine.

When we’d boarded (after these sequences of events) I was so wired with my own concerns that it took a while for the plot to run away with me on this epic adventure. I then spent the next 12 hours flying jotting down everything I could about this brand new story.

After that, I was obsessed.

Writing this book was not work.

At all.

I would spend upward of 13 hours a day writing. I would write until my eyes wept from tiredness and words blurred on the page. I would write until I couldn’t see my computer screen anymore. I would write until my wrists ached and I couldn’t work my pinky fingers from typing so much.

And I loved every bit of it.

In fact, I loved it so much, I would go back and do it all over gain. And who knows…maybe I will on another story line that has recently attacked me with furious excitement.

I can’t wait to share this book with you and I can’t wait to hear what you think of Estelle and Galloway.

A word of warning. This book is NOT DARK.

This is a contemporary survival romance that is unlike anything I’ve published before.

This is me.

This is my heart.

This is my dream.

Thank you so much for letting me do this as a career. Thank you for giving me the time to write every daylight hour and sometimes to midnight. Thank you for letting this story be told because without your passion for my passion, Estelle and Galloway would’ve remained tucked in my soul never to be released.

I hope to God you enjoy this story. But if you don’t, that’s okay. I’m just grateful you gave it a go.

In a couple of days, I’ll release the first two chapters of UNSEEN MESSAGES, here.

🙂

I am awed by your talent. You have a gift to make my plain humdrum life turn into a vicarious vacation where I forget my problems and just live. I live in and for your words. I cry. I laugh and want to just BE that girl that your words bring to life. No one compares to you.
