HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Who stole 2018? Like seriously, I don’t remember how it went from January to January again. Is it old age making time speed up, or all the errands, work, noise, and chaos of life these days that steals away the little things?

Either way, I’m glad 2018 is gone. I shouldn’t wish time away, but 2018 was the year of confrontation with my work ethics, reflection on my life ethics, and a steep learning curve into veterinary science with almost all my pets (one bunny and four ponies) getting sick or injured–including my own health being challenged.

I won’t rehash 2018 as I am SUPER focused and excited for 2019! I know I haven’t had a release in the LONGEST time (longest since beginning publishing in 2013), but I have SO much planned for 2019 that I’m beyond ready to get stuck in!

I have lots of news, and that is where you come in. I need your help. I need to know what you want next from me. Dark? Grey? Something in between?

First, my 2019 resolutions…

Thanks to remembering how to live in the now and be happy in the present moment after a bad burn out episode earlier in 2018, I’m much calmer and stress-free. I’m in the design process of getting a tattoo to remind myself of all the amazing, wonderful things I have in my life to be grateful for, and have committed myself to Hot Yoga twice a week and Horse Riding twice a week to get that active part of my life fulfilled. Hubby and I are planning on going away in the caravan lots with our little rabbit, Mo, and we’ve rebooked to go to Bali in March (after my car blew up and I got smoke inhalation-turned pneumonia).

My main resolution is to keep doing what I’m doing. Having fun, keeping stress low, and waking up each morning with undiluted joy for being alive.

I’m also very excited to start a few books that I’ve been dying to start for a while! Which leads me to the next part….

What’s releasing next?

THE SON & HIS HOPE

This is a standalone spin-off from The Ribbon Duet (The Boy and His Ribbon and The Girl and Her Ren).

It’s BIG, JUICY, ANGSTY, FRUSTRATING, HEART-BREAKING—basically, all the good things. It’s taken me a long time to write this one, as if my mind doesn’t want to leave the Wild’s world. But I’m SO, SO close to being done, and after some serious editing and tweaking, it’s turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I’m dying to release it and I STILL don’t have a release date (sorry!). HOWEVER, what I CAN tell you is this…

I will be announcing the release date of The Son & His Hope very, very soon. And when I do…it will release five days after. No long drawn out release. No long countdowns. You’ve been SO, SO patient with me that the moment the book is readable and of a quality I’m proud of, ARCS will go out, pre-orders will go up, and the ebook and paperback will be on your device within five days. The Audio will be a few months after as Will and Hayden will need time to narrate it BUT at least you don’t have much longer to wait!

NOW, this is where you come in.

I’ve been asked a lot lately if I’ve planned to do anything dark. To be honest, I hadn’t really thought in terms of dark or light or certain genre in a while—I just write what characters tell me. However, the character I introduced to you in THOUSANDS (Book 4 of THE DOLLAR SERIES) has been whispering rather loudly, and I’m wondering which book to focus on next.

 

So…do you want…

THE BODY PAINTER

This is a duet (possibly a trilogy) that will be ‘grey’ in dark levels, sexy, twisty, and angsty. I know that doesn’t really tell you much but the storyline is kinda cool if I do say so myself.

Here is the blurb:

“Must be slim, able to stand for long periods of time, and be impervious to the cold.”
The headline caught my attention.

“Hours are negotiable, pay is minimal, clothing absolutely forbidden.”
The second line piqued my curiosity.

“Able to hold your bladder and tongue, refrain from opinions or suggestions, and be the perfect living canvas.”
The third made me scowl.

“Other attributes required: non-ticklish, contortionist, and obedient. Must also enjoy being studied while naked in a crowd.”
The fourth made me shudder.

“Call or email ‘YOUR SKIN, HIS CANVAS’ if interested in applying.”
The final made my heart race.

I should’ve kept scrolling past the advertisement.
I should’ve applied for the boring receptionist job at minimum wage.
I should’ve clicked on any other job where I got to keep my clothes on.
But I didn’t.
I applied.
My interview is tomorrow…

GODDESS ISLES

This series would be similar to the INDEBTED SERIES, so four to five books, shorter and released faster. They’d be dark. A blend between INDEBTED and MONSTERS IN THE DARK, dark. They’d be cliffies and follow the same characters Sullivan Sinclair and Eleanor Grace.
