Pepper Winters has penned the novel of the century with this masterpiece!
I’d even go so far as to say it’s her best work ever! There is no real way of describing this book! Other than it’s breathtaking, gut-wrenchingly beautiful, superbly poetic, and brutally raw! –Heather Pollock
This book has all the feels. Sadness, anger, gut wrenching heart ache, relief, hope and happiness, I felt it all. This book will forever be one of my all time favourite books, definitely one I’ll never forget and it’s left me desperate for more from Ren and Della. –Vickie Leaf
Pepper Winters I am sitting here with tears in my eyes and my heart utterly, irrevocably destroyed by your beautiful words and vision. You have written a masterpiece of unrequited love, a soul destroyer like no other. I don’t want to say too much, but this tale is not like anything I’ve read before. It will be one of my favourite stories for years to come.– Effie
The official COVER REVEAL for THE LIVING CANVAS!
THE BODY PAINTER is the first book in the MASTER OF TRICKERY DUET. It’s available now!
THE LIVING CANVAS is the second and final book and will release soon. Pre-orders are available on all platforms with a temporary, non-finalized release date!
“Must be brave, stubborn, and impervious to the tempers of loved ones.”
The first line hissed with history.
“Hours are endless, pay is non-existence, quitting absolutely forbidden.”
The second line ached with truth.
“Able to function on no sleep, refrain from running when times get hard, and be more than just a living canvas but a lover.”
The third thrummed with honesty.
“Other attributes required: forgiving, opinionated, and not afraid to tell me when I’m wrong. Must also enjoy being touched and kissed at any time of my choosing.”
The fourth glowed with promise.
“Call or email ‘YOUR HEART, HIS SOUL’ if interested in applying.”
The final made my future unfold.
The advert was so similar to one I should never have applied for.
A twist of fate that brought two destined people back together.
A job I would take in a heartbeat if the employer could offer such terms.
But I wasn’t free.
Neither was Gil.
Therefore, my interview could never happen.
DARKNESS IS COMING…
After a couple of years of dabbling in other genres, moving house, dealing with sick pets, and taking the time to regenerate offline, I’m very excited to reveal my next project after THE LIVING CANVAS. If you enjoyed the INDEBTED SERIES, you’ll enjoy this.
It’s DARK. I will make no apologies for the content. The main hero you’ve already met in THOUSANDS (Dollar Series #4) and I’m DYING to get lost in their world.
Below is the work-in-progress blurb, and a small unedited teaser.
Add this darkness to your Goodreads shelf and get ready for another crazy ride: ONCE A MYTH (Goddess Isles Book One)
“There was a boy once. A boy who wasn’t strong enough to save me when I was taken.”
“There was a girl once. A girl called Tess Snow who sat with me in the dark waiting to be sold.”
“There was an owner once. An owner who bought me, entrapped me, and made me his unwilling goddess.”
Eleanor Grace is a naïve dreamer. Trusting and young, she believes her book-loving boyfriend can save her when her freedom is snatched and sold. Squirreled away to an island at midnight, delivered to a man even darkness won’t touch, she’s bound by a contract.
Five pieces of her soul.
Sullivan Sinclair is the giver of fantasies. Any wish, any desire—he is the master at quenching even the filthiest appetites. His private paradise and perfectly trained goddesses are there for one purpose: to ensure every guest is extremely well satisfied.
He bought her.
He trapped her.
She belongs to him.
My head raised from my knees. My eyes peered into the dank and dismal darkness. A ghostly figure of a blonde girl holding up a bowl danced in front of me.
I was hungry. Thirsty. Hurting. Lonely.
She offered salvation to most of those things, passing me a bowl of nondescript food and a torn piece of bread. My hands shook as I took the bowl from her, bending a little to reach from where I hugged myself on the top bunk.
She flashed me a smile, nodding in approval. “If we don’t eat, we don’t have enough strength to fight.”
I nodded. I didn’t want to talk. The men who’d snatched me from the hostel where my boyfriend and I had been staying promised painful punishment if I talked to the other girls trapped in hell with me.
But this girl…she’d only arrived today.
She didn’t seem afraid, even though I’d seen her crying.
Men’s voices grumbled from outside the door, tearing her gaze worriedly to look. I froze with the bowl in my hands, waiting for a monster to walk in and hurt us.
But the voices faded and the girl looked back at me. “What’s your name?”
Such a simple question.
But a terrifying one because my name was no longer mine. No longer mine to use. Freedom taken from me along with everything.
I licked my lips, testing my throat that still throbbed from screaming so hard when I’d been taken. I’d been in the communal kitchen of the hostel cooking something for me and Steve, my boyfriend.
I’d been the only one.
Until I hadn’t been.
“I’m Tess,” the blonde whispered, Australian accent feathering around her words. “I was kidnapped. They hurt my boyfriend.”
“Mine doesn’t know where I am.”
“I don’t know if mine is alive.” Her eyes glowed with tears.
She had it worse.
At least my boyfriend had been safe in the dorm. What had hers endured?
Other pair of eyes looked over to us, narrowed with fear and harsh with warning. Silence had been our only companion since I’d been thrown in here two days ago.
This girl had taken that silence and filled it with fight. “I want to go home.”
A whisper of agreement filtered around the room.
“They can’t do this.” Her hands curled by her side, crushing the piece of bread she still held.
I nodded again.
But really, they could.
They’d taken us and we had no control.
No one knew what was in store for us but the nasty cloak of misery held truth.
We were theirs.
I pulled back into the shadows, curling around the food she’d given me, settling deeper into silence.
This project has no Goodreads link or website page, that’s because it doesn’t really exist yet. I’ve been thinking about doing his story for a while, always ignoring the small voice in my head but…that voice is getting stronger and soon it will be time to write it.
What is it, you ask?
This is the only clue…
“My father was supposed to kill my mother. My mother was supposed to die for a debt. I’m named after an uncle who died in the war between our houses. I was never meant to exist.”
And finally, here’s a pic of me and my black beauty, Sonny. 🙂
I think that’s it.
Sorry for the many updates this month and I hope you’re excited like I am for some dark romance coming next!
As for my other titles I’ve mentioned in the past (The Argument, Indebted Beginnings), I don’t have release dates as yet. I’m a writer who really has to feel the story to write it and will return when the urge eclipses everything else.
Thanks so much for being so wonderful and have a great weekend!
