The front cover was hand-drawn by a very talented artist called Farras Raihan. The interior artwork is done by Valerie, myself, and Faiza (I am Booked). The vellum is done by Valerie. The gemstone book covers are Valreign. The character covers by Cleo Designs. I’m incredibly lucky to work with some outstanding people and to showcase it all in one edition is just amazing!

Something woke me.
A feeling. The sensation of being watched.
He’s back.
Grabbing my phone and dashing out of bed, I ran down the stairs to the shadowy living room.
My night shorts and Sailor Moon t-shirt etched in silver from the moonlight.
Drifting toward the patio doors, I scanned the country garden full of roses and pansies.
The sensation of being watched grew stronger.
My phone buzzed in my palm.
My heart thundered as I opened the new text message.
“Why aren’t you sleeping?”
My knees turned wobbly as I glanced into the dark garden all while replying
“You woke me.”
“I woke you?” A bush shifted outside. “How?”
Stepping toward the patio doors, I never took my eyes off the foliage.
And there.
Finally.
Wrapped in shadow, the man who’d been stalking me for months, stepped from the darkness.
Dressed all in black, his black tussled hair, dark eyes, and muscular physique made my mouth go dry.
The familiar mask of a skull covered the lower part of his face, hiding his mouth, his jaw, his identity.
Biting my lower lip, I wrote back.
“I felt you watching me.”
He glanced at the glowing phone in his hands, the blue light casting his eyebrows in illumination. His thumbs tapped the screen.
“Ah, now that’s a problem. I’m only out here to make sure you sleep safely. If I’m the reason you’re not resting then I’ll go.”
No, wait. I placed my hand on the glass doors and shook my head.
I shouldn’t feel this way. I shouldn’t like him watching me. But…he made me feel safe after so long of being afraid.
He stiffened where he stood in the centre of my garden.
With confidence I didn’t truly have and nerves colliding in my stomach, I messaged,
“Come inside?”
He read what I sent. His gaze snapped to mine.
For a second, the world stopped.
What was I doing?
Inviting a stranger into my home at three a.m.?
And not just a stranger but the man who’d been stalking me for months.
Before I could take back the offer or bolt upstairs and hide, he pinched the bridge of his nose over his skull mask and then…
took one step toward me.
